 Hello! My name is Alreema Vining, owner and founder of The Alreema Vining Brands also known as The AV Brands which was launched in April of 2021. The services I provide under The AV Brands come from my own trials and tribulations while creating and operating multiple businesses. I learned the key to a successful birth worker and MCH program is readiness. How much you share, what you share, knowing your target clientele, marketing, advertising, experience, and even supporters can push you further to your goals. Although, I had years of experience dealing with postpartum families as a nanny, and childcare teacher nothing prepared me for the business side of being a doula or the MCH field.

While I started my doula research in 2017, I took my first birth doula training in 2018. Always wanting to work for myself, I went out into the world believing I was ready. Little did I know I was far from ready when I made the unfortunate mistake of leaving my corporate job to pursue being a doula full-time with no actual plan. I assumed families would just come to me, but they didn't which left me with little to no income at times. As a mother to three battling postpartum depression from my last child born in April 2017, the last thing I wanted to do was worry about income. With that being said, I decided to go back to work but this time in the Maternal & Child Health field. Making this decision not only helped me to connect with community partners, potential clients, and build solid resources I started to understand the potential working demands of a self employed doula.

To date, many birth workers including organizations call on me for assistance to create programs or speak with newly graduating doulas. I know you're wondering what makes her qualified to teach new doulas about business or provide consulting services to programs after 6 years. Here's why - I had no doula support starting out so all of my information is self-learned and can be verified with a little Google search. I do not suffer from the crab in a barrel syndrome and I am very good at my niche. Ensuring others receive quality work from me means a happy doula or business and continued revenue for me. I thrive in prevention and build up programs with their end goals in mind. If a task is too complex for me or not within my expertise, I refer out which means I know my capacity. Therefore teaching others how to be successful will not take away anything from my life or business.

In addition, I have over 13 years of experience in postpartum, 6 years of birth, trained as a doula 7 times, certified under 3 organizations, provide doula mentorship, sit on various boards and committees and currently own a successful doula business. This does not include all consultant jobs and employment held from 2018 to recent nor classes taken to reach this point. I am honest and speak on things you probably never considered or knew about. I am not here to tell you how to get rich, so if that is what you want, I am the wrong consultant for you. This isn't get rich work, it is heart work and you must have the passion for it. I am here to show you how to successfully think outside the box which in turn can potentially bring in the riches if you're ready. I work from a community based mindset which means I function as the consumer not the doula or the business in order to hit the mark.
